Handwoven in Cape Town.

Our rugs are woven by Cape Looms, a Cape Town-based studio dedicated to preserving the traditional craft of hand weaving. Each rug is crafted from natural, hand-spun yarn, using wool sourced from South African Karakul and Lincoln sheep. Valued for its strength and lustre, the fibre readily absorbs natural dyes, producing colours with remarkable depth and nuance.

Woven rather than tufted, these rugs are fully reversible and designed to endure for generations. Subtle variations in texture and weave are an inherent part of the handmade process, reflecting the craftsmanship and care of its making.

Maintenance & Care

Wool is naturally resilient and stain-resistant. Rotate periodically for even wear, air occasionally, and treat spills promptly by blotting. For a deeper clean, a specialist wool cleaner is recommended. When cared for thoughtfully, a Cape Looms rug will age gracefully, its beauty deepening with time.
